Dr. Edward Maloney is the executive director of The Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS), a professor of the practice of narrative literature and theory in the Department of English, and the founding director of the . As executive director of CNDLS, a research center on teaching, learning and technology, he helps to define Georgetown’s strategy to advance teaching and learning practices at the University, including developing innovative approaches to technology-enhanced learning, learning analytics, and fulfilling the Jesuit mission of teaching to the whole student. As a professor in the Department of English, he teaches courses on modernism, postmodernism, critical and narrative theory. He has a particular interest in the works of James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, Samuel Beckett, Vladimir Nabokov, and Jorge Luis Borges, and he has published on Joyce and others, as well as on issues related to narrative theory, film studies, and hypertext fiction. As founding director of the , he works with students to engage in a critical study of higher education through the lenses of learning, design, technology, and analytics. He is the author (with Josh Kim) of  (Johns Hopkins University Press, February 2020) and  (Johns Hopkins University Press, August 2020).
